Jason Plotkin, Esq., CEO and Managing Attorney of Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, will teach two sessions of Personal Injury Trials From Start to Finish, a live online continuing legal education program presented by National Business Institute (NBI), on October 9, 2026. The daylong program runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and follows a personal injury trial from final preparations through closing arguments and jury instructions.
Jason Plotkin will open the program with Trial Preparation Checklist: Avoiding Last-Minute Scramble and Costly Mistakes, scheduled for 10 to 10:45 a.m. His second session, on case themes and pain-and-suffering damages, is scheduled for 2:15 to 3 p.m. Together, the two sessions cover the practical work of organizing a case for trial and presenting the impact of an injury to a jury.
"I've been the injured person going through this process, not just the lawyer," said Jason Plotkin, Esq., CEO and Managing Attorney of Pinder Plotkin Legal Team. "That's what I bring to this program — preparation and presentation that actually reflect what a client is living through."
The morning session covers finalizing exhibit and witness lists, building trial notebooks, and organizing case materials. It also addresses preparing clients and witnesses to testify credibly and confidently, handling pretrial conferences and stipulations, and planning for courtroom technology and logistics. These preparation topics come first on the agenda, before later sessions turn to evidence, jury selection, and courtroom presentation.
The afternoon session turns to damages. Listed topics include approaches to presenting pain-and-suffering damages, limits on argument, and ways to address preexisting conditions and other potential weaknesses in a damages claim. The session also examines which trial themes work with juries and which fall flat, giving attending attorneys a basis for comparing courtroom strategies.
NBI describes the course as a practical, experience-driven program for attorneys. Beyond Jason Plotkin's two sessions, the full agenda includes motions to control the evidence a jury hears, jury selection, opening statements, direct examination, cross-examination with an emphasis on medical testimony, and closing arguments. Other faculty members will teach those sessions. NBI lists six hours of instruction across the day's sessions. Continuing legal education credit amounts and approval status vary by jurisdiction.
Jason Plotkin represents injured people in Maryland, and the course's subject matter reflects that work. NBI's faculty biography identifies him as a national speaker on auto injury litigation, rideshare claims, and workers' compensation, and notes his continuing legal education teaching through NBI. He previously taught NBI's August 3 course on dog bite injuries. This program shifts the instructional focus to personal injury trial preparation and presentation. He is also the author of Crash Course: To Recovery and Beyond, a book that draws on his experience surviving two serious auto accidents.
Registration and jurisdiction-specific credit information are available from National Business Institute under product number 102547 on the NBI website. The course listing includes live webinar registration, an on-demand recording, and a downloadable course book. NBI states that on-demand content will be available within seven days after the event. Attorneys who cannot attend the live webinar can access the recording afterward.
