Go! Glass & Accessories has marked an anniversary at its Calgary Northwest location, reached in July 2026, and the company is using the milestone to outline how windshield replacement now works for drivers in Arbour Lake and the communities immediately surrounding it.
The Calgary Northwest location runs with a team of four, all of them technicians. Go! Glass & Accessories provides windshield replacement in Arbour Lake, and the work at the location includes windshield camera calibration for a vehicle with a forward-facing camera mounted on the glass. The company is registered with the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC), the provincial body that regulates Alberta's motor vehicle industry.
Where the shop sits shapes the work that arrives at its counter. The Calgary Northwest location sits alongside Crowfoot Station, a CTrain station on Calgary Transit's Red Line, which features a 1,345-stall park-and-ride and serves as the connection point for bus routes running through Arbour Lake and other nearby communities. The station is also the Calgary boarding point for regional bus service running west toward the mountains, a trip the surrounding communities make in their own vehicles as well. Vehicles that sit at a park-and-ride throughout the working day and cover highway miles at either end of a commute accumulate stone damage at a rate that eventually takes a windshield past the point where repair is an option.
Replacing a windshield on a recent-model vehicle is no longer just a glass job. Technicians at the shop hold a Dow urethane certificate covering the adhesive side of that work.
The customers arriving at the shop are, for the most part, private vehicle owners rather than fleet operators, running one or two household vehicles daily. Some come with an insurance claim behind them, and some pay out of pocket, and the split is genuine rather than nominal. AMVIC registration sits behind both groups, since it is the provincial framework under which an Alberta auto glass business operates rather than a credential the company issues itself.
"Reaching another anniversary here matters to me because it means the shop has become part of how people in these communities look after their vehicles," said Remon Toma, Owner of Go! Glass & Accessories. "Calibration has always been done here in the building, and we have never sent a customer to another shop to finish a job we started. Most of the vehicles we see come from the neighbourhoods right around us, Arbour Lake among them, and putting a windshield back the way it was should not take two appointments in two places."
The anniversary was marked at a location where the work is shaped by how heavily its customers rely on their vehicles. Vehicle downtime is one of the constraints the shop faces, since a household in these communities cannot easily do without a vehicle for a day.
