HOUSTON, TX - October 13, 2026 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

El Tiempo Cantina Kirby, the family-owned Tex-Mex group's restaurant at 2360 S Loop W, Houston, TX near Reliant Stadium, formerly NRG Stadium, is inviting Houston hosts and their out-of-town guests to plan a meal around the Houston Texans' two holiday-season home games. The matchups fall on Sunday, November 29, against the Baltimore Ravens and Sunday, December 20, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Both games are scheduled for noon kickoffs on Sundays, when the Kirby location serves weekend brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch menu includes chilaquiles sauteed in guajillo sauce and served with eggs, huevos rancheros, tacos de barbacoa and Migas Tejano. The restaurant stays open until 9 p.m. on Sundays for groups that gather after the game.

"When visiting family comes to town for a game, the meal becomes part of their introduction to Houston," said Domenic Laurenzo, Executive Chef and Owner for El Tiempo Cantina. "The game may bring everyone here, but the table is where people slow down and spend time together."

El Tiempo Cantina traces its cooking to Ninfa Laurenzo, known to Houstonians as Mama Ninfa, who introduced fajitas in her restaurants in 1973, according to the company's history. At El Tiempo Cantina Kirby, the menu's Mama Ninfa's Favorites section includes the Chile Relleno a La Ninfa, an egg-battered poblano with carnitas, cheese, raisins, pecans and cinnamon, along with a pork tamale plate and a carne guisada plate.

Fajitas remain central to the menu. Eater Houston's June 2026 guide to restaurants around the stadium lists the location and describes its mesquite-grilled beef fajitas as arriving "smoky and caramelized at the edges," served with handmade flour tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo and charro beans.

For larger holiday gatherings, the restaurant lists its back dining area as semi-private seating for up to 80 guests, and groups interested in a full buyout can arrange details directly with the restaurant.

"The holiday weeks bring a steady mix of locals and travelers, and advance planning helps larger parties find a comfortable spot," Domenic Laurenzo added. "Hosts are encouraged to reach out early to discuss dates and group size."

Guests staying through the week can visit from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. During Taco Tuesdays, all soft and crispy tacos are buy one, get one, all day. On Thursdays, the Enchilada Especial, introduced in October 2026, serves two enchiladas with rice and beans for 14.99 dollars, dine-in only.

The Kirby location sits at Kirby Drive and the 610 South Loop near Reliant Park, formerly NRG Park, and marked its first year there in September 2026, as detailed in the company's anniversary announcement. Menus and hours are available on the restaurant's Google Maps listing.
